Adding to its stellar roster of venture experts firm a16z crypto has announced the appointment of Jason Rosenthal as an Operating Partner. He brings with him more than 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur and executive in the tech industry.

Rosenthal, who most recently ran most of Google’s consumer-facing subscription services, will lend his deep knowledge of the industry by providing guidance and leadership to a16z crypto’s portfolio companies as they navigate the world of startups. This appointment is a testament of the firm’s commitment to support entrepreneurs as they strive to make a difference in the industry.

In a blog post announcing the appointment, Chris Dixon, Managing Partner at a16z crypto noted, “Founders often need guidance from someone who’s personally navigated many of the abstract, harder-to-define, but nevertheless critical obstacles that inevitably arise in any startup.” As an Operating Partner, Jason’s expertise in product strategy and commercialization, customer development and go-to-market strategy will prove instrumental in helping a16z's portfolio companies reach their true potential.

Jason has strong ties to the a16z family as he was trained in project management by Ben Horowitz at Netscape in the 1990s. He was then hired by Horowitz and Marc Andreessen as the first Loudcloud employee before his appointment as the CEO of Ning in the early days of the social web. His experience of dealing with the growing pains of web startups is likely to prove invaluable in helping a16z crypto’s portfolio companies build their businesses.

The appointment of Jason Rosenthal is an example of a16z crypto's commitment to helping entrepreneurs succeed and deliver value to their customers and the industry. The firm’s inspirational approach and focus on the success of their founders will continue to shape the industry for years to come.
