Lisk, a web3 platform, has announced the launch of an accelerator program to stimulate the development of projects within its ecosystem. This program provides grants of up to 250,000 Swiss francs (approximately $270,000) for developers to create their own blockchain applications through the use of Lisk’s Javascript software development kit (SDK). In particular, the grants will focus on projects targeting the development of sidechains, those that can increase blockchain transaction capacity without reducing its speed and stability.

The program is currently in its first phase, running until the end of June, with a second phase scheduled from September to November. Lisk has not yet disclosed the exact amount of money set aside for the grants, but the Lisk token, with a circulating market cap of nearly $140 million, is evidence of the platform’s promise.

The goal of the accelerator program is to draw attention to the Lisk platform and thereby grow the Lisk application environment. Attracting blockchain-driven companies to develop applications on the Lisk blockchain will help increase the value of the Lisk token as more companies and users join the ecosystem. Lisk also hopes to leverage its initiative to educate developers on the technical and business aspect of developing applications in the blockchain space.

The business environment of cryptocurrency is rapidly changing, with new technology and offerings appearing on the horizon. It is vital that Lisk continues to foster its image as a frontrunner in this space. By offering funding to projects and developers, Lisk provides an incentive for cutting edge development of the tools that will catalyze its growth in the future. In addition, it brings awareness to the necessity of continual innovation and honing of the tools and skills necessary for developing successful applications and businesses in the cryptocurrency economy.
