In a joint effort, podcaster Guy Swann, Bitcoiner Michael Goldstein, and Voltage have launched a crowdfunding page in order to financially help open-source Bitcoin and Lightning development. Contributors of the campaign are offered a vinyl of the 2014 article "Everyone's A Scammer". The piece explains incentives of merchants, investment peddlers, hoarders, and bitcoiners and touches on the fact that "there is a war going on for your bitcoins". The vinyl's cover is illustrated with a still of Clint Eastwood from the 1966 movie "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly", and the black wax ridges inside the vinyl promise to emit a unique Bitcoin signal.

The mission of the Satoshi Nakamoto Institute, who is in full support of the initiative, is to share the best ideas in cryptography, distributed networks, economic freedom and freedom of information. This campaign seeks to offer its own contribution to their cause by means of a vinyl which conveys a much needed message of caution in the Bitcoin space.

As the crowdfunding page emphasizes, since the emergence of Bitcoin in 2009, the topic of Bitcoin scams is a much discussed one. Apart from those who tend to use have nefarious intentions, different kinds of market forces also play a role in the “war for Bitcoins” as the article itself states. The authors' main point is to raise awareness that having one’s cryptocurrency secure is an issue that relies primarily on one’s own willingness and effort to protect their funds. Therefore, it is an important message for all of us who are interested in digital currencies and the things that surround it.
