This week is set to be a historic one for the cryptocurrency industry as Bitcoin rallies above $30K, the Ethereum network is upgraded, and the ripple lawsuit reaches a resolution. Following Bitcoin’s success in surpassing the $30,000 resistance level and Ethereum’s Shanghai upgrade scheduled for April 11, 2023, expectations are high that this week could truly be a revolutionary one for cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency attorney and CryptoLaw founder John Deaton echoes this sentiment and predicts that should a favorable ruling come in Ripple’s case against the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, this week could become crypto’s biggest week ever. Deaton is currently representing thousands of XRP holders and acting as a friend of the court in the case. His speculation as to when a ruling would come ranges from early March to early May.

This case has been highly followed in the industry, as a win for Ripple could bring a much needed clarity and legal protection for the cryptocurrency market; however, should the SEC be the victor, current enforcement measures against crypto projects would likely be justified.

Bitcoin’s crash from its June 2022 peak of $38K to its November crater at $16K has helped improve the bullish sentiment. Its recovery to the $30K mark looks strong, and given its exponential model of growth, could point to even bigger all time highs in the days to come. The Ethereum network, meanwhile, is transitioning from PoW to PoS, leading to improved energy efficiency and greater scalability. Additionally, the long awaited Shanghai/Capella hardfork is allowing stakers of ETH to liquidate their tokens.

This eventful week in crypto will come to a close with the resolution of the highly publicized Ripple v SEC case. The ruling, when it is finalized, will decide the direction cryptocurrencies will take – that of enlightened progress and mainstream acceptance, or beset by regulatory hurdles and restrictions. This week is truly a historic one for cryptocurrency, and one that could lead to an even brighter tomorrow.
