BNB Chain has recently launched an initiative called BNB Greenfield, which focuses on decentralized storage. The technology involves a storage infrastructure that aids users and decentralised apps in trading, storing, and exchanging data with full ownership. BNB Greenfield is distinct from other decentralized storage models due to its accessibility, programmability, full ownership, and speed. It also offers the potential to collaborate with AWS and GOOGLE, acting as a supplementary storage provider in addition to individuals' primary storage services.

BNB Greenfield looks to create a user experience that is both similar to Web2, whilst still taking full advantage of Web3 technology. To this end, the initiative is attempting to tackle the obstacles presented by the current decentralized storage network landscape. This includes improving the speed at which data is compiled from various providers, as well as offering full ownership of the data for commercialization.

The benefits of BNB Greenfield's technology would be seen in various industries such as personal cloud storage, web hosting, and content creators. To further partake in the innovative idea, BNB Chain has also launched Zero2Hero Hackathon, a "technology bootcamp" which is aimed at helping those who want to join Web3 but lack the technical skills. The four to five-week long hackathon has seven tracks, offers more than 20 workshops, and provides participants with the opportunity to partner with projects from around the world to bring their ideas to fruition. Furthermore, if the projects are valid, then the winners will move to the 'incubation round' which is incentivized by both their web2 and web3 partners.
