Blockchain firm Movement Labs has launched a developer mainnet to bring Facebook's Move Virtual Machine (MoveVM) to Ethereum. The release of this mainnet will allow partners to start implementing decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. Movement Labs aims to extend the programming language to an Ethereum layer 2 for the first time, with the support of a $38 million funding round led by Polychain Capital. The company also plans to unveil a multi-asset liquidity program alongside the public mainnet deployment. MoveVM was originally developed for Facebook's Diem project and has been used to create other networks as well.
