Ondo Finance and XRP Ledger are collaborating to bring the Ondo Short-Term US Government Treasuries (OUSG) token to the XRP Ledger network. The token, backed by BlackRock's USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, allows qualified investors to mint and redeem tokens instantly using Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin. The deployment is expected to launch within the next six months. Both Ripple and Ondo Finance have made seed investments in the token's liquidity. The tokenization of real-world assets has gained traction in the industry, with tokenized versions of U.S. Treasury notes growing fourfold in the past year to become a $3.5 billion asset class. The move to tokenized assets aims to enhance capital flow management and increase accessibility and stability in blockchain-based markets. OUSG will be the second tokenized treasury product available on the XRP Ledger.
