Binance billionaire founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has made his return to the crypto space after serving a four-month prison sentence. His venture capital firm YZi Labs announced its first major investment of $16 million in Sign, a platform focused on simplifying token distribution and on-chain identity verification. Sign specializes in tools for distributing newly released cryptocurrencies through airdrops, a popular mechanism for new projects. Sign plans to use the funding to expand globally and help governments adopt blockchain technology. YZi Labs, formerly Binance Labs, manages $10 billion in crypto-related assets. This is Zhao's first investment since his release from prison in September.
