The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has granted virtual asset licenses to local crypto exchanges Panthertrade and YAX. These two platforms join a total of nine virtual asset trading platforms that have received licenses to operate in Hong Kong. There are also six more applicants awaiting approval. The SFC emphasized that the publication of the list does not guarantee the performance or credibility of these platforms. The SFC aims to issue a new batch of licenses to expand Hong Kong's crypto hub but has faced regulatory hurdles, delaying the process further.
