Ethereum generated the highest fee revenue of any blockchain in 2024, earning $2.48 billion. However, its price underperformed during the same period. Despite the introduction of the Dencun upgrade and a shift to Layer 2 scaling solutions, Ethereum remained dominant in fee earnings. Tron was the second highest-earning blockchain, seeing a 116.7% increase in fees due to expanding stablecoin usage. Solana experienced the highest growth, with annual fee earnings skyrocketing by 2,838%. Bitcoin and BNB Chain also saw moderate increases in fee earnings.
