The Safe Ecosystem Foundation has announced the launch of the Agentathon, a hackathon focused on the intersection of AI and decentralized finance (DeFAI). The virtual competition, taking place from February 3-17, 2025, will challenge developers to explore innovative use cases for AI-driven smart accounts, with over $200,000 in partner bounties available. Prominent names from the crypto and AI spaces, including Ai16z, Celo, Kraken, and Consensys, will be participating, and the judging panel will include Freysa, an AI agent designed to showcase the potential of smart accounts. The hackathon aims to enhance the autonomy and functionality of AI agents through advancements in decentralized technology and smart wallets. Participants will have the opportunity to tackle challenges across various tracks, with bounties awarded to the most innovative solutions. The Agentathon is open to developers, researchers, and innovators worldwide and aims to stimulate the creation of AI-native smart accounts that empower decentralized digital ownership. Registration opens on January 27, 2025.
