He had previously expressed cautious optimism about meme coins and had even proposed launching a meme coin where the revenue would benefit the US Treasury. However, in light of recent controversies surrounding meme coins, including the collapse of the meme coin Libra and the subsequent fraud charges against Argentinian president Javier Milei, Cuban is now skeptical about the sector. He believes that consumer protections are necessary before he would consider launching his own meme coin.
