Swedish blockchain-powered aviation data network, Wingbits, is partnering with satellite operator Spire Global to add satellite-tracking capabilities to its platform. The satellite will be launched via SpaceX's Transporter-13 mission in late February. Wingbits currently operates a network of over 2,200 nodes managed by flight enthusiasts, who are rewarded with Solana testnet tokens for providing data on airplane movements. The addition of satellite data will allow the company to verify information and ensure its accuracy. Wingbits plans to create a worldwide network and offer token rewards that can be exchanged for various services. The company recently raised $5.6 million in a second seed round.
