According to gold.org, the price of gold has increased by 45% since February 2024, reaching $2,927.10 per ounce. However, Bloomberg ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas claims that this increase in gold price has not caught much attention. While spot bitcoin ETFs have attracted over $40 billion in net inflows and have a total asset value of over $110 billion, gold ETFs have experienced only minimal growth. Gold ETFs in North America have seen meager inflows of 2.17 tons or $203 million over the past year. Balchunas suggests that the popularity of bitcoin ETFs may have diverted attention and investment away from gold.
