Franklin Templeton has launched the Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund in Luxembourg, becoming the first tokenized fund investing in U.S. government securities in the region. The fund uses Franklin Templeton's proprietary blockchain-based transfer agency platform to record and transfer shares on the blockchain, providing enhanced efficiency, transparency, and security. It is available on the Stellar Lumens network for institutional investors in several European countries. Tokenized U.S. Treasuries have become a $4 billion asset class in 2021, with Franklin Templeton's fund being one of the largest in the space.
