The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in Hong Kong has granted a license to Bullish, a virtual asset trading platform owned by Block.one. This brings the number of licensed platforms in Hong Kong to 10. Bullish, which recently acquired CoinDesk, plans to focus on institutional clients and has over 100 employees based in Hong Kong. The SFC's decision to approve Bullish's license is part of a trend of increasing virtual asset trading platform registrations, with eight more applicants seeking approval. Additionally, the SFC recently approved the first-ever retail tokenized fund in the region, and the Asia-Pacific region is exploring initiatives like gold tokenization to enhance investment opportunities.
