Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a cryptocurrency scam that resulted in a 75-year-old pensioner losing a large sum of money. The arrests were made by British police, in collaboration with other police forces. The scam is believed to be a pig butchering scam, where fraudsters develop relationships with victims online to persuade them to send money. Pig butchering scams have become the fastest-growing type of crypto fraud, accounting for a third of all fraudulent revenue in the cryptocurrency market. Experts have advised investors to be vigilant and cautious when approached with investment opportunities and to verify the legitimacy of investment platforms.
