Justin Sun, the founder of Tron, reportedly lost his official diplomatic status in Grenada nine months ago by the government of Grenada. Sun was given the position of a World Trade Organization (WTO) ambassador by the government in 2021. Sun has been flaunting his credentials as ambassador by labeling himself as "His Excellency" in interviews and on his social media accounts until now. Despite the Grenada Broadcasting Network's report, Sun has not publicly acknowledged the termination of his ambassador status from the foreign department of Grenada.

The foreign affairs office and government information services have not responded to any requests from the media inquiries about Sun's current diplomatic status. Representatives for Sun and Tron have also not responded to any queries about the issue. In October 2021, Sun had tweeted from his official diplomatic Twitter account, though still kept the "His Excellency" moniker in his personal Twitter account.

The speculation about Sun’s diplomatic position came after Sun, Tron and three other associated companies were involved in a fraud case by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and were later charged for orchestrating a scheme of providing compensation to eight celebrities including Lindsay Lohan and Jake Paul without disclosing it. Although all the celebrities involved in the commission have settled the case, Justin and Tron are still waiting for their case trial.

It is still not clear whether Justin Sun is still a diplomat of Grenada or not. However, it is known that the government of Grenada had the right to revoke the diplomatic status of Sun and other ambassadors who were appointed by the previous regime after the elections in June 2022. The international community awaits further clarification on the civil rights of Justin Sun and the status of his diplomatic appointment.
