OKX, a global crypto exchange based in Malta, has expanded its partnership with iconic British Formula One (F1) team McLaren Racing. With the expansion of the multi-year agreement, the OKX logo will be present in seven different races throughout the season, including the upcoming Australian Grand Prix. Additionally, it will be featured on the suits of drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri until the end of the season. This move comes as part of a larger initiative to increase the exposure of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to its fans.

McLaren Racing's CEO Zak Brown commented on the expansion of the sponsorship deal, expressing his appreciation for OKX's commitment to educating both their fans and the general public on the emerging technology. The red and white MCL60 team car will soon be plastered with the OKX logo, increasing exposure for the two powerhouses. Following the terms of the deal, OKX was also responsible for a full livery revamp of the MCL36, wherein the #FutureMode campaign was launched across the Singapore and Japanese Grands Prix.

The partnership between OKX and McLaren Racing isn't the first such collaboration between the two industries. Last June, the team signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with Goldman Sachs, with the intention of meeting its sustainability goals. They were also extended a partnership by FxPro brokerage in late 2021. Moreover, cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has become one of Williams Racing's main sponsors, their logo appearing on both the FW45 car halo and rear wing.

Formula One has had a long-standing affiliation with the financial markets. X-Trade Brokers (now XTB) was the first FX company to invest in F1, creating a partnership with the Vodafone Mercedes Racing Team in 2010. The deal between OKX and McLaren serves as an important step forward in integrating the worlds of finance and cryptocurrency. It will also provide a platform to integrate blockchain technology into the sport, as well as provide a different dimension to the fan experience.
