Jake Paul is a known Bitcoin enthusiast and has made headlines recently after he was charged by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for illegally promoting cryptocurrencies. He had previously claimed that his investment in Bitcoin when it was $100 when he was 16 was the best investment of his life. Besides accusing US President Joe Biden for the crypto market crashing, Paul also supports the SafeMoon (SFM) token.

It appears that the YouTuber-turned-boxer invested a great part of his amassed wealth into the crypto market, only for it to crash and bring him major financial losses. At one point, his brother Logan openly stated that Jake was "poor", even though Majlak stressed that Paula made $40 million the year before. This situation was further complicated after the safety concerns and fraudulent activities surrounding the SafeMoon token.

Many celebrities formed a bevy of crypto-enthousiasts, including Lindsay Lohan, DeAndre Cortez Way (Soulja Boy), Austin Mahone, Michele Mason (Kendra Lust), Miles Parks McCollum (Lil Yachty), Shaffer Smith (Ne-Yo), and Aliaune Thiam (Akon). They were charged for illegally promoting Tron (TRX) and/or BitTorrent (BTT) without disclosing that they were compensated for it, alongside crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun, Tron Foundation Limited, BitTorrent Foundation Ltd., and Rainberry Inc.

This situation ignited debates and raised questions between crypto fans. Despite encountering losses in his investments, Jake Paul still stands as one of the most active crypto influencers. It is still unclear whether the celebrity-inspired promotions helped or harmed the crypto market, either way it sure caused quite a bit of debate and speculation.
