More than 30 U.S. states are considering the idea of publicly funded Bitcoin reserves, with Utah and Arizona making progress towards passing related legislation. However, not all lawmakers support the idea of state-run Bitcoin reserves, citing concerns over speculation and risks associated with digital assets. Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis has introduced a bill proposing that the Federal Reserve swap a portion of its gold reserves for Bitcoin. Additionally, lawmakers in the Senate and the House are presenting bills to standardize stablecoin regulations, with bipartisan support for establishing a clear regulatory framework.
