MetaMask, a popular crypto wallet, is undergoing significant changes to enhance usability and security. The upcoming Ethereum Pectra hard fork will allow MetaMask to reduce the frequency of asking users to sign transactions, improving both safety and usability. The wallet will also enable users to revoke permissions directly within the wallet and abstract away networks and gas, simplifying the user experience. Additionally, MetaMask will introduce gas-included swaps, allowing users to complete swaps without the need for separate gas tokens. Multiple secret recovery phrases, cross-browser and cross-device syncing, and a consolidated token view will also be implemented. MetaMask is also launching a Mastercard-powered credit card that allows users to connect their self-custody wallets and spend cryptocurrency.
