Congressman French Hill will be taking Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan as his guest to the State of the Union address on March 4. Hill played a key role in advocating for Gambaryan's release from a Nigerian prison, where he was held for eight months on charges of tax evasion and money laundering. Gambaryan had been invited to Nigeria to discuss a dispute between the Nigerian government and Binance. Hill visited Gambaryan in prison and campaigned for his release. The Winston & Strawn law firm also played a role in convincing the Nigerian government to drop the charges. The State of the Union address will be President Donald Trump's first major speech since his inauguration.
