A Pakistan Counter-Terrorism Department official has been arrested and remanded in custody for his alleged involvement in the theft of $340,000 worth of tether (USDT) from a kidnapped crypto trader. The trader claims that after meeting with various buyers, he was abducted by plain-clothed officers in a police van. The officers forced him to transfer the funds from his Binance account and then released him. Several suspects have been arrested, including two Counter-Terrorism Department officials, and an investigation is ongoing. This incident follows the recent kidnapping of the CEO of Ledger, a crypto hardware wallet company, where a large crypto ransom was demanded.
