Data storage companies Textile and 3Box Labs have merged in an all-stock deal, with the merged entity operating under the Textile brand. The companies, both backed by venture capital firms, offer overlapping products and have collectively raised at least $42 million since 2019. The merged organization will focus on providing data storage, access, and verification services using permissionless blockchain rails. Textile aims to build an intelligence layer for the multi-agent economy, catering to the growing demand for data by artificial intelligence-powered bots. The company is creating a blockchain network for agents to interact, access data, and trade among themselves.
