Etherlink has deployed its third protocol upgrade, Calypso, on the Tezos layer 2 network's mainnet. The upgrade brings improved network speed, resilience, and efficiency for developers of decentralized applications. It also enables faster withdrawals from Etherlink to Tezos. The upgrade, called Calypso, also improves smart contract storage and lays the foundation for non-custodial and trustless token bridging. Etherlink's non-custodial platform is powered by Tezos smart rollup technology and allows for seamless integration of dApps and supports Ethereum ecosystem tools. The performance boost from Calypso could see a significant 30x improvement. Tezos recently deployed its 17th upgrade that introduced faster transactions and improved staking mechanics.
