Two decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms experienced liquidity issues with different consequences. On Uniswap V3, three swaps of USDC stablecoin resulted in the loss of over 10,000 USDT due to a maximum extractable volume (MEV) bot, potentially from the same individual. The MEV bot manipulated the price of assets in the pool, profiting approximately $200,000. Meanwhile, on-chain leverage trading exchange Hyperliquid faced a loss of $4 million after a trader made a profit of $1.8 million on a 50x leverage ETH long, leading to a liquidation event and prompting a reduction in maximum leverage offered on ETH.
