Illuvium, a crypto gaming project, has announced significant downsizing and restructuring measures following a less-than-positive reception from the community. Co-founder Kieran Warwick stated that the team has made the difficult decision to reduce the core contributor team from 100-150 members to 66, in an effort to bring the monthly burn rate closer to $500,000. Some employees have offered to take pay cuts, while others will receive their salary in the project's token rather than stablecoin. These measures, along with other cost-cutting measures, have allowed Illuvium to extend its development runway to 24 months. Warwick also mentioned future updates and plans for the project, including completing its auto-battler, reworking the Overworld game, and engaging the community. Warwick emphasized that the project is not currently seeking more funding.
