Ethereum multisig wallet Safe has temporarily halted certain functionalities following the $1.4 billion Bybit hack. Safe's security team has not found evidence of a frontend exploit, but the halt is a precautionary measure. Bybit's multisig cold wallet for ETH was drained by a hacker who used a disguised URL to deceive signers. The hacker has since moved the stolen ETH to other addresses. Bybit's CEO has assured that the exchange remains solvent and can cover the losses. Industry players, including Binance's founder CZ, have offered support, suggesting that pausing withdrawals may be an option.
