Multiple scam tokens using the name "DeepSeek" have emerged following the rise in popularity of China's DeepSeek AI app. Security firm Blockaid has reported a threefold increase in the creation of scam tokens using the "DeepSeek" name, with at least 75 tokens created as of January 27. Scammers focus on using bots and paid social ads to promote the fake coins and create a sense of urgency among traders. DeepSeek has denied any involvement with these tokens and warned of potential scams. Similar fraudulent token surges were observed following the release of Donald Trump's memecoin.
