A new survey published by Crisil Coalition Greenwich, the financial analysis division of S&P Global, reveals that institutional investors are increasingly looking beyond Bitcoin and are willing to invest in 10 or more altcoins. The findings suggest that complete adoption of digital assets among fund managers could be on the horizon. The survey highlights a significant shift in institutional sentiment, with 40% of asset managers overseeing funds over $100 million expanding their exposure to altcoins. The report attributes this shift to the growing risk appetite for cryptocurrency investments among large financial firms, influenced by the SEC's approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs. Fund managers are exploring more diversified investment strategies, including multi-asset crypto ETFs, direct ownership of digital assets and derivatives, as well as exploring DeFi tokens and altcoins. The survey also reveals that 75% of fund managers want the ability to stake and earn yield directly from their crypto assets. This indicates a growing interest in maximizing returns through various yield-generating opportunities in the crypto market.
