Ripple has minted 1,050,000 RLUSD tokens at the RLUSD Treasury, marking an expansion of the Ripple stablecoin's presence in the market. RLUSD is an enterprise-grade stablecoin pegged to the value of the US dollar. It was launched in December 2024 and is issued on both the XRP Ledger and Ethereum blockchains. A recent milestone includes the release of the RLUSD Reserve Report, providing transparency about the assets backing the stablecoin. Ripple is also partnering with Ondo Finance to bring tokenized US Treasury, called OUSG, to the XRP Ledger, providing institutional investors access to short-term US government treasuries. The demand for digital assets and stablecoins for payment is increasing, and Ripple predicts that stablecoins will play an important role in 2025. Their Senior Vice President of Stablecoins expects consolidation among stablecoin issuers with institutional backing and robust compliance frameworks.
