The former Economic Secretary to the Treasury (EST) in the UK, Tulip Siddiq, did not meet any crypto companies on behalf of the new Labour government and even canceled meetings with them, according to industry insiders. This comes after Siddiq helped introduce the UK's crypto regulation roadmap but resigned this month following an anti-corruption investigation. Insiders claim that her contribution to crypto regulation was insufficient and that she failed to prioritize the space. Additionally, it was revealed that the previous Conservative government spent five years lobbying investment firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) to open a crypto office in London, but a16z recently closed its UK office, citing a focus on the US due to the new administration's policy momentum.
