Grayscale has filed an application with the SEC to convert its XRP Trust into an exchange-traded fund (ETF) on NYSE Arca, alongside other asset managers seeking to launch XRP investment products. The trust currently manages approximately $16.1 million in assets and operates as a Delaware statutory trust. Grayscale believes that converting the trust into an ETP would provide investors with broader access to XRP and the oversight of a national securities exchange. The trust tracks XRP's market price and holds assets in custody with Coinbase Custody Trust Company. This filing follows Grayscale's applications for Solana and Litecoin ETFs. XRP is trading flat at $3.12, unaffected by the news. If approved, the XRP ETF would give investors regulated exposure to XRP without the need for direct ownership or self-custody.
