Decentralized finance (DeFi) liquidity protocol Velar has launched the BTC Name Grant Program on the Bitcoin layer-2 network Stacks. The program aims to unify digital identities and simplify on-chain transactions by boosting the use of the .BTC digital identity standard. The initiative involves collaborations with top Stacks projects, including Ryder, Bitflow, Hermetica, ALEX, Arkadiko, and StackingDAO, among others. Users can acquire .BTC names through approved Bitcoin Name Service platforms, while Velar will conduct STX reimbursements. The program is part of Velar's efforts to lure users back to the Bitcoin ecosystem.
