In an informal vote conducted within the Ethereum community, former Ethereum researcher Danny Ryan received widespread support to become the next leader of the Ethereum Foundation (EF). The majority of ETH wallets, collectively holding over 51,198 ETH ($164 million), voted in favor of Ryan. However, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin emphasized that social media pressure would not dictate leadership changes, stating that he is currently the one making decisions regarding the new EF leadership team. Meanwhile, there are discussions about the future direction of Ethereum, with Tron founder Justin Sun proposing ideas for an Ethereum revival, and Uniswap CEO Hayden Adams suggesting an Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) focused on acquiring top decentralized finance (DeFi) projects and Layer-2 (L2) solutions. Additionally, there is speculation about the Aave DAO potentially acquiring the Ethereum Foundation, although no official plans have been announced. Concerns were raised about how Aave manages expenses, but the DAO's founder, Marc Zeller, expressed confidence in its profitability. The informal vote in support of Ryan reflects a growing community-driven push for leadership restructuring, but it remains to be seen if a formal restructuring will occur. Despite the ongoing discussions, Ethereum's price has seen a 5% increase, reaching $3,251.
