Powell, however, responded to Trump's comments by stating that he had no plans to engage with the president's attacks. Trump's dissatisfaction with Powell is not new, as the president has previously expressed his intention not to reappoint Powell when his term ends in 2026. Trump believes that he should have more influence over setting interest rates.
