The Sei Foundation has launched a $65 million venture fund called Sapien Capital - Open Science Fund I, which will exclusively invest in decentralized science (DeSci) startups built on the Sei blockchain. DeSci aims to expand access to research funding, promote open data sharing, and ensure fair compensation for scientists. The fund will make venture investments in both tokens and equity, with check sizes ranging from $100,000 to $2 million. It plans to deploy all of its capital over the next three to four years.
