The implementation of the Avalanche9000 upgrade on the DeFi-focused smart-contract blockchain, Avalanche, has led to a significant decrease in usage fees and an increase in the number of transactions. Data shows that since the upgrade, gas fees have averaged around 75% less than before, resulting in a 38% increase in the average number of daily transactions. The upgrade included several improvements, such as lowering the base fee for running smart contracts and replacing the validator fee with a monthly subscription. The goal of the upgrade was to make the Avalanche tech stack more affordable and accessible for all sizes of projects.
