El Salvador has increased its Bitcoin holdings, buying approximately 1.6 BTC daily compared to the previous 1 BTC. The government purchased 93 BTC since December 22, 2024, at an average price of $98,579. This brings the country's total Bitcoin holdings to 6,081 BTC, worth around $579.9 million. The increased purchases show a commitment to Bitcoin as a national asset, following the decision to accept it as legal tender in 2021. President Nayib Bukele has been bullish on Bitcoin's role in the economy and financial sovereignty. This move comes amid global interest in institutional adoption of Bitcoin and potential regulatory changes in the US. Market analysts are monitoring El Salvador's Bitcoin strategy as the price of Bitcoin remains near all-time highs.
