HIVE Digital Technologies, a publicly listed Bitcoin miner, has appointed Craig Tavares as President and Chief Operating Officer of its Buzz HPC division. Tavares brings over two decades of experience in digital infrastructure and cloud services to the role. The appointment comes as HIVE aims to scale its HPC business to $100 million in revenue. Tavares has previously held leadership roles at major technology companies, including Apple, Aptum, Microsoft, and Amazon Web Services. HIVE recently reported $29.2 million in revenue for Q4, along with increased Bitcoin reserves. The appointment aligns with HIVE's strategy to strengthen its position in the cloud computing market. Tavares plans to expand the company's AI GPU platform and HPC service offerings. HIVE also announced the granting of Restricted Share Units to select employees, officers, directors, and consultants, including Tavares. The company plans to expand its operations in Canada, Sweden, and Paraguay and increase its hash rate to 25 EH/s by September.
