Bitwise, the creator of the BITB Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), has donated $150,000 to support open-source developers. The funds, equivalent to 10% of the gross profits from the ETF, will be distributed among three nonprofit organizations: Brink, OpenSats, and the Human Rights Foundation. Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley expressed gratitude to investors for choosing BITB and stated that the company will continue to increase its contributions as the fund grows. BITB's fees are among the smallest in the US-traded Bitcoin ETF market. Bitwise currently holds 41,152 BTC, valued at around $3.9 billion. The three recipient organizations have a track record of supporting Bitcoin development and play a vital role in maintaining the network's security, functionality, and decentralization.
