Argentine President Javier Milei has reignited controversy surrounding the LIBRA token by reposting a tutorial on purchasing it, despite previously retracting his promotion of the token. The tutorial highlighted the difficulty for average investors to buy into the meme coin, rather than endorsing it. As a result, the LIBRA token experienced a temporary 60% price surge, followed by a dip. A wallet known as "goofyahh.sol" was identified as profiting from price manipulation, making nearly $500,000 in profit within 47 minutes. The controversy has led to an investigation by Argentina's Anti-Corruption Office, criminal complaints, and calls for impeachment. US prosecutors are also reportedly considering charges. Despite criticism, both Milei and the CEO of Kelsier Ventures, Hayden Davis, continue to defend their actions. The scandal remains a significant political and financial issue in Argentina.
