Sean Ono Lennon, the son of Beatles legend John Lennon, recently ventured into the world of cryptocurrencies. He has shown great optimism towards the innovative technology, often referring to himself as a "Bitcoiner". Lennon joined the cryptocurrency movement in 2020, during the peak of the pandemic, where instead of succumbing to the stress of the situation, he turned towards boredom and found solace in the digital currency.

During a virtual meet-up with cryptocurrency analyst Max Keiser, Lennon shared why he prefers Bitcoin over gold, stating that it is more versatile and “unseizable” plus it can be carried around the world in the form of its digital signature. Earlier this year, Lennon took to twitter to express his feelings by tweeting, "only Bitcoin can save us now.”

Lennon Jr. is not the only musician to grow an interest in cryptocurrency. Other famous musicians, such Snoop Dog and Pitbull, have also given their support to digital currency. In April 2021, Soulja Boy was able to make a large profit from the popular meme coin PEPE, which saw a growth of 91%.

As for Lennon, he’s not only mining cryptocurrency but also mining memes. Saturday saw him join the crypto world of Billy Markus, one of the co-founders of Dogecoin, the original meme coin. Lennon’s twitter post “It’s a memes to an end…” had Markus give the reply “It’s memes all the way down” to which Lennon said “Lord bless.”

It looks like cryptocurrency is here to stay and it has managed to find support from the music industry. Cryptocurrency has come out to be a savior for many, and its versatility and impact is both unmatchable and incredible. The future looks bright for cryptocurrency and only time will tell us the true potential it holds for us.
