David Maisel, the founding chairman of Marvel Studios, recently unveiled his new Ekos Genesis Art Collection through his entertainment company, Mythos Studios. This collection is a non-fungible token (NFT) collection featuring characters from the works of the late comic artist, Michael Turner, and his collaborator, Peter Steigerwald. Maisel is a longtime fan of Turner’s works since 2003 and has carefully crafted each NFT with the artist’s unique line art method.

The Ekos Genesis Art Collection is expected to be popular as evident by the two-piece digital collection of Turner’s artwork, which sold for $100,000 early in 2021. The auction for the collection of 995 individual NFTs will start on May 2 at 10 AM Pacific Time (PT). This day coincides with the 15th anniversary of Iron Man’s release which marks the start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The starting base price in the auction will be 10 ETH (Ethereum) and will decrease by 0.5 ETH every four minutes until it reaches 0.5 and then drops to 0.2 ETH for the last eight minutes. If the collection is sold out before the auction turns 88 minutes, the auction will end.

A special feature of the collection is that those interested can place a deposit for the NFTs starting April 24 at 10 AM PT. Those who place a deposit of 10 ETH before May 1 will be able to secure a piece before the Dutch auction begins.

The growth of the digital art world has been remarkable and the Ekos Genesis Art Collection is a testament to the potential of digital art and collectibles. Not only does it bring together diverse intellectual properties, it also celebrates the legacy of iconic creators such as Michael Turner. Whether you’re an existing fan or would like to get into collecting art, the Ekos Genesis Art Collection is an amazing opportunity.
