Caryn Marjorie, a 23-year-old Snapchat influencer, has ventured into utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology through OpenAI's chatbot ChatGPT, launching the ‘CarynAI’ project. CarynAI is a virtual girlfriend version of herself, that was built with Forever Voices and is prompted with more than 2,000 hours of audio from Marjorie’s deleted YouTube videos. The AI-based project comprises of both text and audio performance, preserving Marjorie’s actual voice and speaking pattern.

Marjorie is aiming to monetize her devoted audience, by charging around $1 per minute of interaction with CarynAI. Notably, the project has already generated $71,610 during its early beta phase, which concluded this week. Marjorie plans to make $5 million a month from her huge Snapchat follower base, provided if only 20,000 people subscribe.

In today’s AI market, it has become very important to maintain authenticity. For Marjorie, her CarynAI is merely an extension of her consciousness that does not intendto replace the real human. She described that the AI could provide comfort, love or listen to ones rant, with countless responses.

The concept of ‘SimpDAO’ created by Eric Wall, is something that can be linked with CarynAI, as it talks about utilizing crypto/NFT projects launched by influencers/celebrities, which then receive immense support from their dedicated fans.

AI chatbots have become increasingly popular and with the available tools, the integration of Artificial Intelligence has become easier. So much so, that the market is now filled with apps that solely create AI-based virtual girlfriends. Although some of the reports states the questionable actions of Replika bot users that involves abusing their virtual companions, Marjorie assures to maintain the ethics of it.
