Aegis Custody, a U.S.-qualified digital asset custodian based in Los Angeles, is looking to close the gender gap in Web3 by providing free custodial services to crypto companies founded or led by women. The initiative hopes to give women-led companies the chance to focus on growth and building innovative products and services without worrying about the expenses associated with custodial services, or up to $28,000 in relief depending of the size and stage of development.

Serra Wei, CEO and founder of Aegis Custody, believes that the lack of support and respect faced by women in the industry are its biggest obstacles while they try to succeed. To help the process, Wei suggest using donations, time and knowledge to helping women reach a higher level in the industry.

In addition to its new initiative, Aegis Custody offers a variety of custodial services, such as a $25 million insurance policy for non-fungible tokens (NFTs), held by institutional investors, hedge funds and exchanges. They also offer staking, DeFi governance, KYC and AML servicing.

Aegis Custody’s new initiative actively attempting to help more women become involved with Web3 is a step in the right direction to bridge the gender gap, specifically in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space. Ultimately, this and other initiatives can help improve the crypto industry’s culture and make it more resilient. With free custodial services and other helpful donations, innovative minds and products from women can finally get the attention and respect they deserve.
