The crypto markets experienced unexpected volatility after the CPI announcement, with BTC's price heading north and reaching a weekly high before declining slightly. BTC had initially dropped from $96,000 to under $90,000 at the start of the week but quickly bounced back to $97,000 by Tuesday. After the CPI announcement, BTC surged to just shy of $101,000 before losing some momentum. Its market capitalization has reached $1.960 trillion, but its dominance over altcoins has decreased to 54.3%. Other larger-cap altcoins such as Ethereum, DOGE, AVAX, TRX, and LINK have also seen gains. The cumulative market cap of all crypto assets has exceeded $3.6 trillion, adding more than $300 billion since earlier this week.
