Senator Cynthia Lummis has warned the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) that criminal referrals will be made if staff are found to be involved in destroying documents related to "Operation Choke Point 2.0" (OCP 2.0), an alleged anti-crypto campaign. Whistleblowers within the agency have raised concerns about efforts to withhold and destroy information regarding the crackdown on crypto businesses. Lummis has demanded the preservation of all relevant materials and threatened legal action against those involved. The battle over OCP 2.0-related documents has been contentious, with Coinbase suing the FDIC for access to files. The agency has been ordered to cooperate fully.
