Switzerland state-owned bank, PostFinance AG, has officially launched Ethereum staking as part of its cryptocurrency expansion. This move comes as major financial institutions are increasingly getting involved in the cryptocurrency industry. Ethereum staking allows users to earn rewards by validating transactions on the blockchain. PostFinance plans to introduce staking for other tokens in the future. The bank previously launched crypto trading and custody services in 2024. PostFinance is the first systemically important bank in Switzerland to offer staking, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for cryptocurrency in the country. Additionally, Swiss officials have proposed purchasing and holding Bitcoin as a strategic reserve.
